Let's start with your budget

Throughout May I will be sharing a series of videos and brand marketing tips via insight2marketing YouTube and this blog page, turn your notifications on!

A marketing budget is crucial for allocating resources effectively to promote your business, attract customers, and drive growth. Without a budget, it's challenging to prioritise marketing initiatives, track expenses, and measure the return on investment (ROI) of your marketing efforts.

To get started with planning your marketing budget:

  1. Determine your marketing objectives: Clearly define your goals, whether it's increasing brand awareness, generating leads, or driving sales.
  2. Research your target audience: Understand your audience's demographics, preferences, and behaviour to tailor your marketing strategies effectively.
  3. Choose the right marketing channels: Select the most suitable channels such as social media, email marketing, or content marketing to reach and engage with your target audience efficiently.

Then you need to consider your offline tactics. I have done a super quick video here on YouTube but you may want to also consider:

Attend more events. This is a great way to meet new people, connect away from your phone/desktop and network! Make sure you have made note of my events too!

Local Event Sponsorship: Sponsor a community event such as a summer fair, farmers market, or outdoor concert. Your business name and logo can be featured on event signage, promotional materials, and announcements, increasing brand visibility among local attendees.

On Street Chalk Art: For the creatives in my community, consider having an eye-catching 'on street' chalk art outside your popup shop or business premises. Ideally in high footfall areas. This playful and interactive form of guerrilla marketing can attract attention from passersby and encourage them to visit your establishment.

Branded Merchandise Giveaways: Produce branded merchandise such as tote bags, water bottles, or sunglasses featuring your logo and distribute them at local parks, beaches, or outdoor events. This not only promotes your brand but also provides value to potential customers during the summer season.

Pop-up Stands or Booths: Set up pop-up stands or booths at local outdoor markets, street fairs, or festivals to showcase your products or services. Use creative displays and interactive elements to engage with attendees and generate interest in your brand.

Outdoor Advertising: Invest in low-cost outdoor advertising options such as posters, flyers, or banners strategically placed in high-traffic areas frequented by your target audience, such as bus stops, community notice boards, or outdoor seating areas.

Check out my YouTube video for more tips. But as a starter, once you know your budget, these offline marketing tactics can surely help you effectively promote your business during the summer months without breaking the bank.
